4. Intellectual property

13. Dispute resolution

If you have a dispute with us and cannot resolve it by ourselves, both parties have the right to initiate arbitration orlitigation to an arbitration institution or court.

We will update this clause from time to time according to the situation. For updates, we will not notify every user. It is recommended that you check these terms frequently to learn about the latest changes.

1.  FCE works with you to provide high-quality written translation and other guidance services for scientific researchers from non-English native countries.

2. The rights and obligations of FCE

2.1 FCE protects your privacy under our information security and privacy policy. However, FCE may post your head portrait and brief introduction on the website to introduce FCE's teams to customers, unless you explicitly object.

2.2 FCE will pay you based on the work you have completed.

For the translation work you have completed, FCE will pay you reasonable compensation based on the length of the paper and the translation requirements of the customer; the price and time requirements of each task will be listed on the website. At the end of each month, FCE will pay you all the compensation for that month's qualified work.

2.3 FCE will supervise the quality of your work according to certain standards and rules.

2.4 According to the specific situations of the translation projects, FCE sometimes allocates works directly to someone, sometimes notificates editors to login and select works if these works are suitable for selecting freely. In both cases, there will be email notification.

3. Your rights and obligations

3.1 You promise not to disclose or abuse any of FCE's commercial secrets and customers' submitted manuscripts. Any disclose or abuse may cause huge loss for both FCE and the customers.Any verifiable malicious disclosure or abuse will beprosecuted for legal liabilities.

3.2 You shall respond timely and complete FCE's work on time and with quality.

3.3 You need to register an account on the FCE website and fill in the real information. After you log in, you can view the tasks under your corresponding discipline and have the right to choose the tasks you like. The compensation, time limitation and other requirements for tasks will all be listed clearly. Once you choose, you agree to the compensation and requirements.

3.4 In order to maintain fairness and prevent someone from choosing too many tasks to complete while others have no choice, you can only choose 1-2 tasks at a time, and you can continue to choose other tasks after you have completed last ones and confirmed by us.

3.5 The process is: receiving email notification—login—view tasks—select tasks(once you select, customer is able to chat with you via chat tool untill you finish the work; if the 'select' button is grey, it means someone else has chosen it)—download manuscripts and start to work—submit to FCE website—review by translation reviewer—editor polishing translated manuscript—subject editor-in-chief review—editor-in-chief review—pass or veto—submit to customers—customers may ask some questions, you need to respond—complete.

4. You will get reasonable compensation.

5. Some other regulations

5.1 After you finish the work, if the editor-in-chief of FCE finds obvious problems in your work, he or she will ask you to redo it; if no obvious problems were found, we will submit it to the customer.

5.2 If your translated manuscript is rejected due to the language expression problem when the customer submits the manuscript to a journal or other publishing house, you must redo it for free. If you refuse, FCE will have to arrange for others to do the job, and the cost will be deducted from your other compensation. If the customer add content or modify the content on their own and need you totranslate, FCE will pay you according to the proportion of the change content (usually less than 20%). The specific payment and time requirements will be listed on the website.

5.3 If you fail tocomplete the work within the time limitation, the compensation will be reduced by 10% for every overdue working day. The deducted compensation will be used by FCE for possible customer claims.

5.4 If you refuse the work arranged by FCE in accordance with this agreement without a reasonable reason up to three times, FCE has the right to terminate the cooperation with you.

6. This agreement is valid from the date you register your account.

7. FCE has the right to modify this agreement.

8. If you and FCE have unresolved disputes, both of us may initiate arbitration or litigation to an arbitration institution or court with jurisdiction.

2. The rights and obligations of FCE

The price and time limit requirements of each task will be listed on the website. At the end of each month, FCE will pay you all the compensation for that month's qualified work.

5.1 After you finish the English editing work, if the editor-in-chief of FCE finds obvious problems in your work, he or she will ask you to re-edit, you'll see the vetoed manuscript and some notes in your task list; if no obvious problems were found, we will submit it to the customer.

5.2 If your work is rejected due to the English language problem by the customers' target publishing house, you shall edit it again for free. If you refuse, FCE will have to arrange for others to do the job, and the cost will be deducted from your other compensation. If the customer add content or modify the contenton their own and need you to re-edit, FCE will pay you according to the proportion of the change content (usually less than 20%). The specific payment and time requirements will be listed on the website.

5.3 If you fail to complete the editing work within the time limitation, the compensation will be reduced by 10% for every overdue working day. The deducted compensation will be used for possible customer claims.
